The Sikkim authorities has banned homestay house owners within the Himalayan state from leasing and renting their institutions to any third social gathering, an official stated on Tuesday.
Homestays will now be run and operated solely by the native entrepreneur proudly owning the enterprise.
An advisory issued by the state authorities’s Tourism and Civil Aviation division September 11 acknowledged that as per rule of the Sikkim Registration of Homestay Institution Guidelines of 2013, the homestay house owners should not permitted to lease, lease their homestay unit to any third social gathering and that the homestay house owners are suggested to adjust to the identical.
Additional, any report on violation of the identical shall be handled strictly by the division, it stated.
