Renault are to cease producing Components One engines from 2026, ending nearly half a century of use in F1, the French producer’s Alpine workforce introduced on Monday.

The transfer had been flagged by Alpine’s former workforce boss Bruno Famin in July.

The workforce are anticipated to make use of Mercedes energy items from 2026.

Renault entered F1 in 1977, introducing the turbo engine to motor racing’s flagship sport and profitable 5 drivers’ titles and 6 constructors’ crowns.

The agency’s F1 engine manufacturing facility at Viry-Chatillon, close to Paris, is to be remodeled into an engineering centre for future Renault and Alpine automobiles.

“Components 1 actions at Viry, excluding the event of a brand new engine, will proceed till the tip of the 2025 season,” Alpine’s assertion introduced.
