A contemporary case has been registered in opposition to former Maharashtra House Minister Anil Deshmukh, former Particular Public Prosecutor Praveen Pandit Chavan and others. The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has accused them of attempting to border BJP leaders.
In 2022, then Chief of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis had handed over a pen drive to the Maharashtra Meeting Speaker, which contained audio and video recordings that had been allegedly proof.
It was alleged that Particular Public Prosecutor Pravin Pandit Chavan was seen conspiring with high-ranking cops and hatching conspiracy to border outstanding BJP leaders.
The video recording clearly reveals that Pravin Pandit was concerned in submitting false instances in opposition to the applicant and different BJP leaders, the BJP had alleged.
“Particular Public Prosecutor Mr. Pravin Pandit Chavan is clearly seen within the video recording plotting and drawing up conspiracies in complicity with excessive rating Police Officers to border varied outstanding leaders of BJP. The video recording clearly reveals that Mr Pravin Pandit is concerned in getting patently false instances registered in opposition to applicant and different leaders of BJP since first step of drafting FIRs. tutoring witnesses, arranging money funds. instructing the investigating officers and many others,” the CBI mentioned.
The CBI had registered a preliminary inquiry and began investigating the case. After almost two years of investigation, a case was lodged on July 31.
Mr Deshmukh resigned as state house minister in 2021 after ex-Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh accused him of setting a goal to gather Rs 100 crore a month from bars and eating places.
