In an enormous crackdown on the sand mafia in Tamil Nadu, the Enforcement Directorate is finishing up searches at over 40 places throughout the state.
Industrialists S Ramachandran and Dindigul Rathinam, who maintain sand mining licences, are within the probe company’s crosshairs.
Durai Murugan, Common Secretary of the ruling DMK, holds the mining portfolio within the MK Stalin-led state authorities.
