The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Principal Chief Materials Supervisor of North Jap Railway (NER) in Gorakhpur for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant.
Later, searches have been carried out on the official and residential premises of the accused at Gorakhpur and Noida (Uttar Pradesh) led to the restoration of money of Rs 2.61 crore (approx) and incriminating paperwork.
The arrested particular person has been recognized as KC Joshi, Principal Chief Materials Supervisor (IRSS: 1988), NER, Gorakhpur.
In line with CBI, a case was registered on criticism towards the Principal Chief Materials Supervisor (IRSS: 1988), NER, Gorakhpur on the allegations of demanding undue benefit of Rs 7 lakh for not cancelling the registration of the complainant’s agency on the GeM Portal. It was additional alleged that the Complainant’s agency was supplying vehicles to Railways on a yearly contract for Rs 80,000 per truck monthly.
CBI laid a lure and caught the accused accepting an undue benefit of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant.
