Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday appointed former Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali as head of youth improvement. The newly created function was stuffed after a recruitment course of, in accordance with the PCB. Other than being a member of the choice committee for the lads’s nationwide crew, Azhar Ali may even function the top of youth improvement. PCB acknowledged that Azhar shall be tasked with shaping the way forward for Pakistan cricket by designing and implementing complete youth cricket methods.
“Tasked with shaping the way forward for Pakistan cricket by designing and implementing complete youth cricket methods, establishing strong grassroots cricket buildings and expertise pathways, collaborating with regional cricket associations to strengthen age-group programmes, educating rising cricketers beneath the PCB’s Pathways Programme, and organising seminars and clinics to construct consciousness of off-field improvement necessities for aspiring gamers,” PCB’s assertion was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying.
Azhar opened up on his new function and stated that he’s honoured and excited to tackle the tasks.
“I’m honoured and excited to tackle this vital function. Having risen by the age-group ranks and performed intensive membership and home cricket, I perceive the crucial function grassroots improvement performs in shaping future stars,” Azhar stated on his appointment as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
Azhar was in control of Pakistan in ODIs from 2015 to 2017 (taking on for Misbah-ul-Haq after the World Cup), a turbulent time for the crew within the format throughout which they fell to No. 9 within the rankings. He didn’t take part in any T20Is and his final ODI for Pakistan was in January 2018.
