Eire Embassy in New Delhi has introduced a cultural collaboration for Kolkata’s iconic Durga Puja pageant to have a good time 75 years of diplomatic ties between the 2 international locations. Irish and Indian artists are working collectively to create a spectacular pandal to honour the Hindu goddess Durga and the Celtic goddess Danu.
This collaboration brings collectively Macnas, a celebrated Irish arts collective from Galway, and Kolkata’s famend Behala Nutan Dal, a cultural organisation well-known for its revolutionary Durga Puja celebrations.

The centrepiece of the pandal will function a big set up representing the Irish goddess Danu, designed by Macnas artists Johnny O’Reilly, Lisa Sweeney and Richard Babbington, working carefully with Indian lead artist Sanjib Saha.
