A girl vandalised the nameplate of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis outdoors his workplace at Mantralaya in south Mumbai, following which the police have launched a search, an official stated on Friday.
The incident occurred after 6.30 pm on Thursday, through which the lady eliminated the nameplate and smashed it on the ground earlier than leaving, an official stated.
Mr Fadnavis, a senior Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) chief, additionally holds the Dwelling portfolio. He was the chief minister of the state from 2014 to 2019.
“The girl entered the Mantralaya, the state secretariat, and not using a legitimate entry cross. As per the investigation carried out thus far, the lady informed the safety personnel that she forgot her bag contained in the secretariat complicated and wished to gather it,” he stated.
“After gaining entry into the constructing, she reached the workplace of Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis, the place she eliminated his nameplate caught outdoors, and broken it by smashing it on the ground. After that, she stepped out of the Mantralaya,” he stated.
The girl is but to be recognized and a case is being registered on this connection on the Marine Drive police station, he stated.
Police have launched an operation to hint the lady, the official stated.
