Three folks have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping 14-year-old boy and demanding a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from his household close to right here on Tuesday, stated police.
The boy was additionally rescued by the police.
In accordance with the police, the boy, the son of a scrap supplier, was kidnapped by three folks on Tuesday morning from the Tathawade space of the adjoining Pimpri-Chinchwad township.
“On receiving a grievance from the household, a group have been fashioned and through investigation, it was revealed the abductors had taken the boy to Saswad. The abductors had earlier referred to as a relative of the boy and demanded Rs 30 lakh and threatened to kill him if the ransom cash was not paid,” stated an officer of the Pimpri-Chinchwad crime department.
He stated after tracing the situation of the abductors, a police group was dispatched and so they have been arrested from Saswad and the boy was rescued from their clutches.
The accused have been recognized by the police as Tejan Lokhande, Arjun Rathod, and Vikas Mhaske.
The police stated the trio knew that the boy’s father was financially well-off and focused him for fast cash.
“The accused wished to open a lodge and for that they wanted cash. This led them to plan the kidnapping,” stated one other police officer.
